Here we have very clean, low mileage example of 1984 (awaiting dating certificate but VIN checked at yamahaty.com) Yamaha TY250 Scottish, frame type 53Y. One of the early mono-shocks.
This bike has just arrived from Japan and not only looks the part but runs and drives beautifully. It has only 572km that’s 355 miles on the clock and the body work is in good condition. Not only have clean TYs become hard to find but with such little mileage it is real gem. There is little surface rust on the tank but the frame, rims and seat are excellent. We strongly recommend viewing. If you would like one, that can easily be arranged. If you live too far away, we can set up video call and do virtual viewing that way.
The stroke air-cooled 246cc engine powers provided 14HP to this 101Kg machine, renowned for it slim, high tensile steel diamond frame.

This was street-legal version of the TY250R trial competition model. It shared the same specs as the TY250R in its linear power development, torquey engine mounted on slim diamond type frame made of high-tensile steel and linked type Monocross suspension. And, for more convenient use in everyday on-road use, it added features like the "Autolube" system that supplied lubricating oil to the engine in accordance with engine rpm, 6-speed transmission, tires that doubled as competition tires, plus the necessary lights and other equipment to make it street legal.
This bike has been through the NOVA system meaning that all VAT and import duties have been paid. We would be happy to help with MOT and registration.
