This very much sought after tax exempt 1975 Honda CB550K1 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 16946 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
The single most important purchase for classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be commercial venture or just hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the ignition key seat lock assy. It has obviously stood while so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres seat cover are perished, master cylinder isn't working. Sadly the r/h side panel is damaged front mud guard is dented.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims. Forks yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight hangers. Instruments switches look ok. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip. Seat base is in very good condition throughout. Chain guard is tidy as is the grab rail. The engine is cosmetically quite clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great has compression When we bypassed the ignition switch, hooked it up to good battery fed it few squirts of ether it fires tries to start run but it,s obvious the carbs need attention.
