I'm selling my BMW X5 for very genuine reason my wife doesn't like driving it as it's too big. I am an ex BMW technician and bought this car few months ago. have carried out full service recently using Fuchs fully synthetic oil. Auto gearbox oil and filter have been replaced.
The 19" "Tiger Claw" alloys have just been refurbished and are finished in smoked chrome which really compliments the light meallic blue bodywork. All tyres are virtually new.
The rear air suspension was not working when bought the car resulting in very bumpy ride. have removed this troublesome system entirely and fitted genuine BMW rear coil springs and mounting rubbers. very common modification on E53 X5! There is note coming up on the dash display saying 'Self Level Inop', obviously this is because it no longer has it. There are many BMW specialists advertising online that they can code out this warning, for around £30, but frankly it doesn't bother me as know all is well.
I have just replaced the OSF window regulator, window switch pack, battery, thermostat and coolant. also replaced the tatty chrome kidney grilles with matt black new ones, they look far better.
There are couple of issues that will require attention but do not have time to address them the PDC (parking sensors) are bit random. have brand new sensors to rectify this, they will be supplied with the car. The navigation screen has recently gone blank. have bought complete known working nav unit off ebay for £200, this will also be included in the sale. also have navigation firmware update disc that will supply with the car. MOT advisories were 'rear number plate faded' and 'rear brake pads wearing thin'. Nothing serious!!Other than these issues, everything works fine.
Highly specified car, black leather trim, climate control, keys, cruise control, heated seats, hill descent control etc etc.
The interior is in good condition, have just bought brand new rubber mat set including boot liner to go over the BMW genuine carpet mats. Leather is in good order. minor mark on the NSF 'A' pillar trim.
The bodywork is in good order generally. No rust. few minor marks and scuffs commensurate with age and mileage it still looks pretty good in my opinion.
Drives well, the engine runs beautifully, very powerful. Gearbox changes up and down smoothly. It is fitted with Tracker all documentation included.
I'll be sorry to see it go, but there is no point in keeping car my wife won't drive!
