1942 Harley Davidson Airforce WLA
The Harley-Davidson WLA served many purposes for the United States military during WWII and beyond. The machine featured Harley-Davidsons durable 45ci Flathead and 3-speed transmission. This machine was acquired by the Army Air Corps in 1945 and when the US Air Force began in 1947, the bike was relocated to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma for use as perimeter control. It was later decommissioned from use and sold as military surplus in June of 1961. 

The bike remains mostly complete with plenty rare Harley Davidson WLA items. Features rare military ignition switch and speedometer, WLA low headlight bracket, rare oil bath air cleaner, crash guards and speedster handlebars. The engine does turn over. Both sides- gas and oil tank are clean.

The machine is missing few components necessary to make it run, including the carburetor, fuel line and rear exhaust header pipe. Also missing the headlight, horn, cat eye dash and some other general miscellaneous items. It's believed that very few Harley Davidson WLAs were produced for the Air Force, and this is one of less than handful known to exist. This is great opportunity to own RARE military machine, that could run again with little TLC.  
The bike has been in the Wheels Through Time Museum collection for many years and is being sold to make room for new exhibits at the museum.
No title, sold on bill of sale only and must be picked up at Dale's Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, unless the buyer arranges shipping.
