1961 BMW R69 Motorcycle Engine Number  654624Frame Number 654624Frame plate Number 654624Original Milage 48185Please review all the 60+ photos and video below. address of video if you do not see link below  .   https://youtu.be/Rs9NvWEbwYs  for your consideration is this very nice original paint and unrestored 1961 R69 in factory Dover White, This is one of the rarest postwar models in one of the rarest factory colors with nice bunch of factory options on it too. Under 3000 R69 model motorcycles were produced by BMW and very very few in Dover white, as you can see from the pictures below this is very nice unmolested original motorcycle, ready for re-commissioning, triple matching number with perfect data plate, it is being sold as nice complete core project to restore or.... I do not know if this motorcycle runs or will run, but everything is their and it sparks and has some compression, as seen it is just about complete and original motorcycle as you are ever going to find for rebuild, last registered and run in 1991 with 48000 or so miles on the speedometer and am quite sure this is original mileage. The engine turns over nicely with no strange noises or clunks, the transmission shifts and goes through all gears as it should, kick start is nice with plenty of travel, has the optional Weinmann alloy low lip wheel rims, original Hella turn signals, correct 9/10 26mm Bing carbs which are clean and complete, The engine is still on standard bore and original factory pistons, horn is correct, tire pump is present, correct magneto with retard lever only available on the R68 and R69, rear fender hinge needs repair, the tires will need replacing and are unsafe and very old and cracked, the rest of the chrome on this bike is still  good and above average, The large 6.3 gallon optional Schorsch Meier gas tank is in great condition, inside the gas tank is perfect and outside near perfect has possibly the nicest looking original tank badges have ever on BMW this old. The front and rear fenders at tips have some bashes, some scratches and scuffs and worn pinstripes all round the motorcycle. The paint is bit dull but may polish up have not tried, final drive is 25/8. headlamp is complete and all electrical components are inside, correct and nice headlamp with correct glass and rim, mufflers and exhaust system look very good with no rot. Also has factory side stand, center stand and Flanders side stand attached to swinging arm. All of the rubber parts are bit dry as expected. One of the front shock upper cover is bit chewed up but just happen to have decent replacement which will include- see the bottom/last photo. Overall this bike has great original patina and in my opinion is just how you would want to find an old original motorcycle, if were to keep this machine would just go through the drive train and leave as is, as think it has superb original patina, or if you prefer restored machine this is an excellent candidate you need to find nothing it is as complete as you will ever find one of these rare Earles fork models. These top of the line BMW R69 Earles fork models are becoming harder and harder to find in any condition. have ridden and owned another R69 and can say it is by far the most enjoyable Earles fork model to own and ride, bit more torque and power than and R60, and way less cammy and fussy than the R69S, in my humble opinion it is Thee Earles for motorcycle to own and use.
