purchased this bike in 2011 on Ebay from Florida ownerand imported it into Canada. All the requirements inspections were passed andit has clear title in my name. It is registered in British Columbia, Canadawith collector plate status. Although it passed as described it did, disappointingly havesome unmentioned (by the previous owner) minor mechanical and electrical issuesincluding non-functioning starter, turn signals as well as worn front brakecomponents etc.. Wanting to have reliable machine started going through andaddressing these beginning with the starter, found that the starter clutchhad at one time seized and broken inside and someone had removed it. so Ireplaced with newer roller bearing unit rather than the bushing style of theoriginal. Also the actual starter motor was shot and replaced that soeverything functions as it should. then traced (after many hours oftroubleshooting) the malfunctioning signals to short at the bulb in theinstrument cluster which is repaired. Not long after got it the chargingsystem crapped out, had local dealer look at it and they determined thatthe rotor was shot this was replaced with n.o.s. unit. It now functions as itshould.I also took apart the exhaust and cleaned the baffles, replaced all the exhaust seals and gaskets, Inspected and replaced the frontbrake pads and rebuilt the calipers including the master cylinder, all bled andworking as they should. Went through the entire wiring harness and cleanedand applied dielectric grease to all connections. Cleaned and rebuilt the carbswith new kits, cleaned the air filter which was in good condition, disassembledthe entire front end, replaced the front fork seals and gators and cleaned, repacked the head bearings. Cleaned and adjusted the points, installed newplugs. Disassembled the swing arm and cleaned and greased the bushings as wellas adding new o-rings which were decayed. Installed new chain. Flushed thegas tank which had very minor presence of rust and installed an n.o.s fueltap. Flushed and replaced the coolant and replaced the overflow rad hose. Mostfasteners have been cleaned replaced if necessary and had Loctite or neverseize compound applied. New battery installed last fall. It took much time but besides taking apart the motor whichis quiet and runs strong, every other mechanical aspect of the machine has beenchecked, repaired, cleaned, adjusted and lubed if needed. Although I’m not certified motorcycle mechanic am amachinist and welder and have been working on Japanese bikes and particularlythe 70’s Suzukis for over 40 years and can assure that the bike is in very goodmechanical condition and runs excellent. Inspections are welcome.Knowing that survivors are more sought after by some andthat they are only in original condition once resisted the urge do anyrestorations such as paint or replace the bodywork or chrome components otherthan repainting the battery tool pouch holder area which as the original hadcome off assume due to battery issues.  The bike does show the wear and tear thatwould be expected of 46 year old machine such as fading paint on the sidecovers, one side cover has crack on the bottom mounting tab but is stillsolid. There is small dent in the tank in front of the Suzuki emblem on theleft side and very small one on the top right side near the back. The chainguard has small chunk missing out of it and doesn’t have the original metalbacking plate at the rear mount but is firmly attached and functions fine. Ithas piece of gorilla tape covering the spot where the chunk is missing.  The choke lever looks to have broken off atsome point and the piece has been glued back on but seems very solid and functionsfine. The front master cylinder although functioning fine is u.v. affected and opaqueso should probably be replaced. The exhaust pipes have some scratches on thembut are solid with no rust or noticeable dents. removed and cleaned Theexhaust cones and knowing they are prone to coming loose and getting lost, tackwelded nuts on the baffles and used allen head screws with lock washers insteadof the original sheet metal screws to ensure this does not happen in the future. The front brake has bit of squeal when warm for some reason and may needsome of the disc brake lube compound to make it quiet. The clutch lever has asmall chunk out of the rubber on the end, the tires are older but enough treadto get through the season (I replaced the Duro tire seen in the video thatlooked like dirt bike tire) with an older Dunlop elite that looks much better. One mirror has heat mark where it looks like someone tried to fix bend.  I need to stopworking on the bike and move onto other projects so the new owner can resolvethese last few minor issues!.  amdefinitely poised to lose money on this project but enjoy the process as ahobby as well so it has been good endeavour. have only driven the bikeapproximately 1000 miles since bought it and purchased another one the sameyear by chance and am redirecting my energy into it. also purchased fewother partial water buffaloes few years ago so have had resource for spareparts which is where some of the components needed for this one came from aswell as my local Suzuki dealer and Ebay etc..A youtube video of the bike running and driving can be foundhere:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSrkyKpqFIs&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR1DSB0YW3a1gOKQApJ8DD7QsFYDzWmq1tdnPlNPtcck4SGsaFvGGLLmUVAInternational purchasers, will be happy to work with yourshipper and the bike could be stored until such arrangements have been made ifwithin couple weeks. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thankyou
