The bike was designed by committee of three people: Bob Modero (anengineer at Harley) Jim Haubert (an independent Skunkworks contractor) andWillie G. Davidson’s. This 1000 cc, speed features bikini fairing, slimfront fender, reshaped fuel tank, pillion-free saddle, Twin Showa shocks and aunique “siamesed” two into two exhaust. It’s rated for speeds up to 120mph, hasover 65hp and is full of torque at 3,750 rpm.The XLCR was WillieG’s one and only brush with the cafe racer set, taking parts from the XR750flat track racer, Morris MAG wheels and it created classic for all time.
