Absolutely Beautiful and original "Survivor" 1974 XLCH 1000 Sportster! The condition of this bike today is exactly the way that it was when built at the factory in 1974. The original paint still shows its luster after 45 years. Super rare color- "Sunburst Burgundy". Most 1974 sportsters are black. And very few are still in existence today. This bike is sure to appreciate in value due to its rarity. The original exhaust system with the exact mufflers that were on it when new are still on the bike. This is "One Kick" bike! That is the reason why purchased it. Without doubt, this Sportster is the best running and riding Ironhead that have ever owned! Instant throttle response! hate to see this one go, but need to make room for other interests. This is the last XLCH from my collection to be sold. This is kick start bike only. Clean title and all numbers match on the title, frame, and the engine. Brand new tires front and back! The front tire is an 3.25 19 Avon Speedmaster. The rear tire is Dunlop Roadmaster 4.25/85 H18. These are top of the line tires. It needs absolutely nothing! This is turn key bike. You can ride this bike as soon as you take possession of it! Fresh trans fluid, oil, oil filter, air filter,  new battery, and of course- the tires. recently had the front master cylinder and caliper rebuilt. So there is ample stopping power. The inside of the gas tank had been lined prior to my purchase of the bike. Also there is very small dent in the gas tank. There are few spots where the decal on the gas tank has been slightly damaged. But it is still very nice factory paint bike. It is currently titled, registered, and insured in the state of New Jersey. Great sounding, very fun, and responsive to ride!
The speedometer reads 13,067 Kilometers. The mileage equivalent is 8,119 miles! This is an international model. The bike was originally shipped to Dysel Motorsports in West Germany on 05/24/1974, as per Harley Davidson archives management. It is believed to have been purchased by US serviceman stationed there at the time. He must have loved it so much that he brought the bike back to the States when he returned home. Bidders are encouraged to ask questions and feel free to make an appointment to inspect it in person.
