Relisting due to 'less than desirable' bidder (eBay won't let you say dea*beat) who was daydreaming he had money.
Nice looking 1970 BMW R50/5 with original engine and only 9500 miles on the odometer but it hasn't run in years so it needs good mechanical going through/freshening up. It's an older cosmetic restoration that still looks good and the engine turns over but the carbs are gummed up and I'm sure the petcocks need going through. The tank was Kreemed so no rust in the tank and it looks great inside. Carbs and intakes and cables and related pieces were removed but loosely reinstalled. was going to freshen it up and get it running but another bike is on the horizon and this one needs to go. Clean and clear title in hand, comes with the ignition key too. While the engine does turn over and this bike is mostly complete with original engine (eng# 29OO6O7) and original carburetors (#1/26/113 and #1/26/114), would describe it as project bike because the engine needs rebuilding and going through to be sure of it's mechanical condition. removed the top cover and it looks like the engine internals should be checked over to verify sound mechanical operation (see pictures). think BMW mechanic with home shop would be perfect for this bike. Someone with the skills and mechanical experience to perform thorough check up would be the best owner for this bike. Sadly, do not possess those skills and technical knowledge. Since this BMW R50/5 is for sale locally reserve the right to end the auction early.
