First let me say that this car sold and was not paid. This practice of winning and not paying as well as retracting bids has now become the rule on eBay and not the exception. never used to worry about being paid years ago but that was when seller was able to leave negative feedback that eBay has now stopped. When seller doesn't get paid, eBay still keeps the listing fee and the seller has to pay all over again when re-listing. This is just not fair or right. Where have all of the honest eBayers gone?Anyways, this is not mycar. am auctioning this 1968 Ford Ford Mustang for friend who doesn’t doeBay. The car is located in Rockland, Maine. If you would like or need moreinformation please send me an email and will do my best to answer yourquestions.                                                                                                                                                                                                Asto myself, am (67) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, amretired from managing Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked forthe Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. am also respectedmember of my community. mention this only because of the value of this carand so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealingwith. Also, please check out my eBay feedback that is 100% after (1,171) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle cars, which have sold to individualsall over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Australiaand the Netherlands. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle carlovers.                                                                                                                                                                                                How about littlehistory on the classic 1968 Ford Mustang.Inthe beginning….The date was April 17, 1964. Intermediate sized musclecars, with big block engines were gradually replacing the full sized musclecar. Lee Iacocca, Ford’sGeneral Manager, had always envisioned small sports car to be the next hotitem in the street wars. Ford decided that instead of improving theirlackluster intermediate, they would do the competition one better and introducea whole new breed of automobile, the pony car. Originally designed as twoseater in the European tradition, Iacocca realized that true success dependedon volume sales. Therefore the Ford Mustang was introduced asa 1965 model that was based on the compact Falcon to lower production costs. Itcame with an obligatory back seat and multitude of options that would givethe buyer an opportunity to customize their purchase, and generate extraprofits for Ford. Plymouthfaithfulstress that their Barracuda beat the Ford Mustang to market by two weeks. Butit was the Mustang, which racked up over 22,000 sales its first day and onemillion sales in its first two years, that turned the market and people’s attentionto the pony car. The pony car class that the Ford Mustang helped create is theonly class of muscle car that still exists today. The 1968Mustang was little changed from it 1967 counterpart. Most of the changes werein subtle refinements to the interior and exterior. New options for the 1968Mustang included an AM/FM stereo radio, rear window defogger (coupe andfastback only), re-designed front power disc brakes, and the all-new 302 cidengine. The 302-4V, 230 horsepower engine replaced the 289 Challenger Specialof previous years. By December of 1967, the 289 engine was replaced entirely bythe 302 version. Other changes included the deletion of the horizontal grillebars, the deletion of the F-O-R-D letters at the front of the hood, simplification of the quarter panel ornament, and many safety features wereadded. Due to increasing governmental regulations, the 1968 Mustang nowincluded front and rear side marker lights, folding, flush mounted interiordoor pulls, and an energy absorbing steering column. There were several"region specific" models offered from various dealers. Two of themost notable were the Mustang California Special, and the Mustang High CountrySpecial. Total production for 1968 was 317,404 units.1968 Mustang Engine Options·   200cid – 1V – I-6 – 120HP·   289cid – 2V – V-8 – 195HP·   302cid – 2V – V-8 – 210HP·   302cid – 4V – V-8 – 230HP (Boss)·   390cid – 2V – V-8 – 325HP·   428cid – 4V – V-8 – 335HP                                                                                                                                                                                                I’ll be perfectly honestwith you and tell you right up front that this classic 1968 Ford Mustang isin no way perfect.
