Beautiful 1976 YAMAHA XT500C"Original" Collectors Bike or ride...& Enjoy!
Re Advertised due to last minute bid removals! Thanks, really appreciate the pitiful excuses, (entered wrong amount.... “of course you did!”)
Welcome to the reluctant sale of this iconic Yamaha XT500C, arguably the most sort after of all the XT models. With too many unfinished projects, am having to let this beauty go...
This XT500C is rather special, low mileage, original bike. It is matching chassis engine, (1E6-0063XX), early in the production run from February 1976.
It is about as "original specification", as they come. Combined with its low mileage of only 4,930, it is very rare bike. have owned this bike for years having personally found and imported it from Minnesota in March 2014.
It has just been subjected to careful and sympathetic restoration with the primary aim of keeping it original...
Original petrol tank, simply re-painted and re-decaled. New original plastics side panels along with front fender and rear nos Yamaha metal fender. It is still wearing its original seat,(not recovered). It does have couple of nicks/marks, but is so original, couldn't bring myself to have re-covered.
All correct and original switch gear, clocks, even the factory original plastic coated clutch and brake levers! The wheels are original and have NOT been re-worked with cheap aftermarket spokes and rims. These are original and correctly numbered Takasago wheel rims fitted at the factory.
The following service work has been carried out:Engine stripped /checked and re-built-New Seals/gaskets -Bore honed with new standard Yamaha ring set.-Valves re-seated with new Yamaha stem seals-Carb has been ultrasonically cleaned and re-built
-New Cables/turn signals-Brakes-Forks and shocks re-worked, (new seals/stations and oil)-New points/plug/oil air filter.-New sealed battery

Please judge for yourself from the photo's. (they form as much part of the description as the words), have tried to keep the bike as standard/honest as possible.
Starts 1st or second kick, (really easy) and settles straight into smooth rattle free idle, super little runner. Revs responsively and it rides as you would expect from low mileage bike, quiet, smooth clutch and gear change
The V5 was applied for mid March in my name, so expected back any day now. It is registered as Historic vehicle, (NO tax or MOT required), but will, just for good measure, have an MOT done before collection/shipping.
You will NOT be disappointed....
Please call or ask any questions, (Chris 07500 708331), I'll answer as many as can.
Being 44 years old, it will be sold as seen, with no warranty.
The Boring Bit....., (sorry to all those genuine Ebay users), but please remember, you are bidding to buy, not to negotiate or worse, to see it hit the reserve, then retract bids!! (no silly offers/part exchanges wanted), if she fails to meet the reserve, I'll simply keep her..(there are too few around in this condition!!)
I will expect £200 paypal deposit within 24 hrs of the sale ending and the balance in cash or cleared funds on/before collection or within 14 days, (which ever comes sooner)
Any viewing welcome, bear in mind, the current "social distancing restrictions". With this in mind, would imagine that you would wish to have it collected by approved carrier?
I will of course, assist with in anyway can. Alternatively, as long as all paid for, can keep stored and safe for collection at later or to be agreed date.
Thank you very much for looking, happy bidding...
