This listing is for an immaculate and beautifully restored 1974Suzuki GT750L in stunning Suzuki metallic orange paint. This bike was imported from the USA couple of years ago,and since that time has undergone full and comprehensive professionalrestoration to the highest possible standard with exceptional (bordering on obsessional) attention to detail in every part of the bike. The base bike was an original and unmolested GT750L with thebalance pipe exhaust system, rare model which was only in production for about oneyear. The originality of the bike made it very good candidate forrestoration.I am professional motorcycle engineer with almost 40 yearsof experience, and have particular love of the GT750 having owned my firstone at 17 years old. am lucky that both my job and my lifelong hobby involvesdesigning, building, rebuilding, restoring and riding motorcycles.I have looked at many so called restored GT750s, and so manyof them are let down by poor attention to detail; wrong nuts and bolts used, incorrect routing of pipes, hoses, cables, wiring etc, missing clips, damagedfasteners; bikes which do not stand up to close inspection. This bike is different; every nut, bolt and washer has beenfully inspected, cleaned and either re-used, re-plated or replaced with an equivalentpart. Every component of the bike has been cleaned, inspected, polished, repainted or replaced as required. The bike has been painstakingly reassembled respecting the originalSuzuki assembly details and settings, and is presented exactly as it left thefactory in this respect. There are no missing, damaged or incorrect parts onthis bike, no stripped or damaged threads or rounded bolt heads, and everypipe, cable and wire is routed correctly and everything functions as it should.Prior to starting work, the bike was steam cleaned and fullystripped down, and the following main work was carried out:Engine:The engine was not stripped down. It was carefully checkedover and found to be in perfect condition (after all it has only covered 11,000miles……).The engine side covers, carb tops and oil pump cover were removed and sent to specialistfor mirror polishing. The water pump nylon drive gear was replaced as precaution(these ALWAYS crack and eventually break………).The carburetors were fully stripped and ultrasonicallycleaned, and rebuilt to factory settingsThe ignition system was stripped, checked and cleaned, and the contactbreaker points and ignition timing reset to factors settings. The oil pump was checked and reset to factory settings.Chassis:All black painted parts were de-greased, shot blasted andpowder coated gloss black by specialist finisher. The fuel tank and side panels were sent to specialistpaint shop and resprayed Suzuki metallic orange and lacquered to very highstandard. The pin striping on the tank is not stickers, it is professionally handpainted and then lacquered and the overall finish is exceptional. All the chrome work on the bike is original, and inexceptional condition with only few minor blemishes. The front fork legs were also mirror polished. The bike was then slowly and carefully rebuilt over numberof months to the standard you see in the photos, with new parts being fitted asrequired along the way including:Front and rear tyres, Seat cover, Coolant pipes, Rear inner mud flap, Engine cover screw set, Nylon water pump drive gear, Battery, Various rubber mountings, clips etc. as neededAll fluids were replaced (brake fluid, gearbox oil, swingarm grease, engine oil and coolant mix 50/50 antifreeze/distilled water).Because the bike was in such good low mileage condition pre-restoration, only limited number of new parts were required. This bike is now finished and has covered approximately 300trouble free miles since the restoration. It is UK registered, am the firstUK registered keeper and it has current MOT, although will put new MOT onthe bike at point of sale. The bike is 42 years old so does not require roadtax. You are welcome to come and view the bike. It starts, runs and rides perfectly and is joy to own and ride. am only selling itbecause enjoyed doing the restoration so much have already bought anotherone! This is not show bike with every nut, bolt and washerchromed or bike that is never intended to be outside. This is bike forriding. If you are looking for a professionally restored GT750 ready to use, look no further. This bike is an appreciating classic and if you want to investin one, pick good one and just enjoy the riding experience of this fantasticsilky smooth cylinder stroke classic motorcycle.Collection only, or specialist bike courier by arrangement. Thanks for looking.
