have no idea why the reg date is 1947 it is 1977 cant seem to change the 1947!
This is special XT500, the last owner and have spared noexpense in the build. 1977 XT500 frame with the steering angle sharpened to retainthe standard wheelbase and sharpen up the steering.  It gives this bike far more purposeful lookthan standard bike. The frame was shot blasted powder coated inmetallic grey followed by numerous coats of two pack lacquer to give deepshine.The front forks and yokes are Yamaha WR/YZ400 with thebottom yoke modified to fit the XT headstock. Handlebars are Renthal Fatbars  on risers.The swinging arm is from XT600 and has been converted frommono shock to twin shock with all the mono shock hold tig welded up andprofessionally polished and fitted with chain tensioner. The rear shocks areOhlins piggy backs which have professionally powder coated black.The front footpegs are from Kedo and there are no rear pegsthis is purely solo ride bike.  Frontbrake is WR400 four pot with wavy disk and rear is XT600 with specially madeone off mounting bracket. The rear master cylinder has been mounted to theframe and is concealed behind the right hand side panel. The front mastercylinder is new. The wheels are genuine Yamaha WR supermoto with Excel rims.The engine is from an SR500 and has the head gasflowed bySlipstream tuning. In addition it’s fitted with Carillo conrod, 90mm Wiseco12:1 piston rebored by Slipstream The cases barrel and cylinder head wereall vapour blasted all covers professionally polished. new cam chain ,valve rockers, can chain tensioner  &clutch were fitted less than 600 miles ago. The engine sounds absolutelysuperb, no engine noise and fantastic exhaust note through the big bore steeldownpipe and megaphone exhaust. The exhaust does have few scratches on it. The carb is new VM36 specially jetted for this bike, thisbike is responsive and punchy. The electrics are SR500 with capacitorreplacing the battery. The CDI unit, voltage regulator, capacitor killswitch are all mounted on special plate concealed behind the left hand cover.There is no ignition key but there is hidden ignition switch fitted.  The wiring harness has been speciallymade  and incorporates warning lights forneutral, low beam and high beam. All electrical cables have been covered inmetal braid. The speedo is Vapour electronic unit with tacho and has aprogrammable rev limiter and lights built in.All control cables and levers have been renewed. New kickstart and light folding gear lever. The fuel tank is from late XT and isaluminium and it has been painted in the original XT colours and theme, thetank mountings has been modified to retain the full steering lock. The oil tankhas polished Yamaha aluminium cap. The rear mudguard is original and thefront one if an aftermarket one professionally painted white to match the restof the bike.  All the nuts and bolts havebeen replaced with stainless steel ones and all brackets, clips etc have hadthe zinc coating renewed. This is truly beautiful bike and crowd pleaser. Theriding height is perfect for the taller rider. The bike has done around 1000miles since the rebuild.
