Hi,
I am regretfully letting my BSA go to new home, I've had it seven years and done nothing with it. It would be great project (i even considered doing custom bobber etc) or could be used as parts (which would be shame).
The first picture is obviously not the bike in question and is an example of what it could look like finished.
When bought it there were no handlebars, have sourced set to go with it. The gearbox is purportedly rebuilt speed from later bike.
One of the tyres is new old stock Dunlop, unsure of exact age but it is not cracked and still has the moulding nubs on the tread. The other is an Avon and is definitely worn unevenly.
The tin work is pretty good although the tank has surface rust, depending on the level of restoration this could be painted, re-chromed or replaced easily (new ones are still available! )
The engine is in bits and has +60 thou piston.
The only things that can see as not being there are the exhaust, the headlamp (bowl in pictures) and possibly the carburetor, whoever stripped it ready for restoration literally took everything apart!
There is no V5 or logbook, to get V5 it would be case of getting the BSA owners club to verify the frame and engine numbers, they can then look up the original reg (and provide proof of age and then apply to the dvla with that info for V5. You can kind of make out the reg on the rear number plate but the lettering has been removed on both plates, annoyingly.
I have not done full inventory of parts so there may be more bits missing as am not an expert in these at all, classic Jags and Triumph cars are more my thing.
If there is enough interest may break.
Please examine the pictures closely, if you would like to view please message me through ebay.
