1953 BSA M21. 600cc side valve single. V5C Present. Classed as historic, so tax and MOT exempt at this age. The bike is on none transferrable reg. This is BSAs classic workhorse, the big 600cc thumper, ideal for side car work. This is plunger model and has the tank badges that were only fitted for one or two seasons. It is bike that has been restored sympathetically some time ago. original wheels, powder coated etc. the bike is tidy, but far from mint, just good usable work bike. original Smiths Chrono fitted. All standard equipment, looks to be good solid tinware. Nice patina. Altette horn. The bike starts easy and runs great, pulls like train. These bikes were soft tuned and designed to work hard. The AA loved them for example. The 600cc version is touch more rare than the M20 and has bit of extra grunt. looking at the engine and frame numbers, they appear to be from 1952 and the bike is registered early in 1953, so it may have been kicking around in dealers for few months before being registered, which is not too unusual. Both engine and frame number are correct for late 1952. The engine is quiet without any smoke or rattles, the bike lights up, rides around good, and is basically good going concern. This is one to ride and if you want to do more cosmetic work as you go, then it can stand it.Collection is preferred, although can arrange delivery within the mainland UK by courier for £ 100. No Paypal or credit cards. Or come and ride this one home. Collection to be sorted in the new year.
