Hi and welcome to the auction of my father in laws Passat. Unfortunately it's being listed as spares or repairs Yesterday (Friday) he drove to my house ,problem free but when he went to leave he had no reverse gear on the automatic gearbox. am not mechanic and have googled possible causes of this problem with him.Possible causes we found ranged from blown fuse, wheel speed sensor,gearbox valve block gear lever selector?  We also noticed the gear selector light flashing randomly.Today  (Saturday) have been out and started the car and it shifted fine through all the gears no flashing lights at all.He has owned the car since 2007 and it has full history from vw main dealer cam belt and water pump done at specified mileage.Properly maintained. As I've said we have no idea what the problem is and the car will be sold as spares or repairs.It may be wise to use trailer to take it away as we have no way of knowing whether the problem will come back or not My father in law doesn't want to trust the car anymore He is 83 and don't blame him.He has now decided to downsize.Forgot to say there is small amount of rust bubbling on both front wheel arches which noticed when taking pictures.Hopefully it will be an easy fix for somebody with the knowledge that we lack. would just like to say that ive received 42 questions so far .99 percent want buy it now price.Unfortunately my father in law wants as much as he can get for the car.Ive had offers ranging from 100 -600.If you want the car message me and deposit can be accepted through paypal .Only then will take offers seriously
