Selling my Touareg as its wee bit surplus, bought it to replace an older Range Rover which we used for towing two fat ponies, but just after buying the Touareg the ponies got truck!! subsequently we've never used it for towing. enjoy driving it but I've got three other cars, so it has to go I've been told!!)
I specifically set out to buy petrol version of the Touareg as preferred the smoother VR engine, fuel economy wasn't such an issue after 14mpg Rangie its usually in the low to mid 20's, local running)Another reason for choosing this particular touareg was the Brembo brake upgrade for the towing) which are worth good money on their own.
The bodywork is very good, there are few light scratches, no dents with one small area of lacquer lifting on the offside rear door. There is no sign of corrosion on the body including the underside) only one area is on the inside of the rear offside door on the inside seam, checked this out and its quite common but for some reason doesn't affect the near side door. The alloys are in surprisingly good condition they've hardly got mark on them.The interior is in great condition, all the leather is pretty much unmarked the seat electrics all work (heating, lumber adjust, memory, etc) it has an electrically adjustable steering column. Some of the switches have suffered wear due to that rubberised coating VW use, but they all work. The info display in front of the driver works well once you get used to it!) the sat nav doesn't work so well, it's got mind of its own.
The engine is smooth running, there are no leaks around the engine transmission, the engine starts first turn and doesn't use any oil or coolant, the auto box shifts gears smoothly, and is fitted with optional paddle shifters.
I've recently noticed there is bearing noise coming from the front diff, I've no idea how long that could go on for before replacing the low mileage I'm doing it might last year on the plus side they're on the bay for less than £200, that and an easy paid mechanic it could be relatively cheap fix, and is the reason for my lower starting price.
It comes with comprehensive service history all kept in an A4 ring binder, the last servicing that it had was an oil and filter service by the previous owner (Oct 2018) Two tyres, brakes and battery are all quite recent additions with invoices )
It has Thule detachable tow hook, have side steps for it but didn't like them along with sports front grille, they can go with the car if wanted have picture with these fitted )
Overall it's good car in great condition for its age, it's clearly been well looked after, and comes with long MOT and won't need servicing for while.
