For sale is my 2002 Golf TDI – it is the 1.9 PD 130 GTTDI model
I bought the car from colleague who had owned the car from almost new; she used it for her daily motorway commute and since owning it used it for exactly the same purpose (99% of the mileage has been done on the motorway)
It has genuinely been the most reliable car have ever owned and has never let me down
It has been fully serviced annually after every MOT by my mechanic using the correct PD oil (there are some service sheets present; however, unfortunately some have been lost)
The four tyres have plenty of tread and there is full-sized, unused spare wheel in the boot with unused jack
All of the electronics work as they should – no service lights
Two genuine remote keys with spare plastic copy from the factory
Mileage is at just over 166,000 which isn’t big big deal for these cars
MOT until March, 2018 – velocity joint gaiters and track rod end changed at previous MOT
There is rattle and judder when driving the car at low speeds which my mechanic says is likely to be the dual mass flywheel – the clutch still works fine and it pulls as it should – he said that single mass flywheel conversion is popular and the parts are relatively cheap
The fan belt screeches when on full-lock – am advised that this will be either the belt or the tensioner
There is some rust on the front driver’s side arch and there is cracking to the paint beneath the grille (pictured) – otherwise besides few marks the paintwork is presentable for the age of the car
I am selling because we now have replacement car so no longer rely on it or have justification for having the work done, but am confident that if the buyer is willing to give it little TLC it will be every bit as reliable for them
Car is currently taxed but will need to be re-taxed by buyer in line with new policy
