SHE SAYS... Meet Nigella, my 1996 white and turquoise Sambar. have owned her for two years and enjoyed every single moment of driving her. She never fails to attract waves, smiles, comments and conversation. She is now bit poorly so am selling as need reliable runaround and have to finance an imminent, horribly sensible, new car purchase. How could you not say yes to those lovely cushions on the back seat?
HE SAYS... Nigella certainly has been fun to own but it is time to say farewell. She has covered 87000 miles and is starting to show her age in places. The 660 engine runs like dream but the automatic gearbox is failing the gear lever now sticks in neutral when the engine is running and you try to select drive, although once in gear there are no obvious issues. With the engine off, the gear lever moves freely, but it can't be good news. have changed the transmission oil and checked the linkage but that is the limit of my expertise I'm afraid.
I think the starter solenoid may need replacing as sometimes there is just click when the ignition key is turned. The exhaust will also need attention in the not too distant future. There are blisters starting to appear on the wheel arches and the front carpet has seen better days.
Having said all that, she does have 11 months MOT, alloy wheels with excellent tyres, radio/cd/satnav with reversing camera and bluetooth connectivity for phone as well as built in microphone. The battery was replaced around three months ago and there are no oil leaks.
She is lovely but will need more TLC and time than am able to give. Sadly, she will have to be sold as non-runner.
