Purchased from Bimota by U.S.-based team. Professionally uprated, 180+ HP, 12,000 RPM red line (factory original 156 HP and 10500 RPM).

Imported cost for 1997 SB6R was ~$35,000. Additional investment by original owners was substantial. The SB6R was not fully modified to race livery, nor raced. It remains in street legal configuration. Contextually, the cost of building up competitive superbikes can exceed $125,000.

1997 Bimota factory SB6R equipment includes:
- Carbon fiber body tail.
- Paoli carbon fiber forks.
- Ohlins rear suspension.
- Brembo dual front brakes with Bimota floating disks,
- Brembo disk brake rear.
- Steering damper.
- Straight line unibody frame.
- Pressurized airbox.

After our purchase in 2004, the SB6R was stored and maintained by Rising Sun Performance (RSP) in NM. RSP had been servicing it since new. When RSP closed in 2010, the SB6R was displayed in private collection and then brought home. It is now ridden briefly once or twice per year.

This SB6R can be serviced by experienced motorcycle mechanics.

- K&N air filter with K&N 138 oil.
- Professional grade 10W-40.
- Michelin Pilot tires (120/70-17 front, 190/55-17 rear).

Bimota SpA (www.bimota.it) was started in 1973 in Rimini Italy by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri, and Massimo Tamburini (Bi-Mo-Ta). Bimota has designedand built their own line of exotics and race motorcycles, and the company and its people have also been involved with designing and developing Ducati, MV Agusta, and Lamborghini motorcycles. Bimota also collaborates with other major brands on special models, and both SB and YB models have won world superbike and other class championships. The company has only built limited number of motorcycles each year, with few making it to the U.S. market.
