In the late 1970’s, longtime U.S. motorcycle importers Joseph and Michael Berliner requested 1000cc Moto Guzzi to compete with the BMW R100RS, and while Guzzi had more touring oriented 1000SP, they capitalized on the Le Man’s good name and introduced the CX100. Built in 1979 and only 353 units, it’s not easy to find stock CX100 these days, most having undergone some form of modification. The distinctive fairing was honed in Guzzi’s wind tunnel and looks tough but provides stability at speed. The LeMans CX100 has been in my collection for some time and was purchased from the original owner. It was re-painted at some time during his ownership and is, as far as can tell, completely stock and original except for the air filters. As you can see in the photos, have the original airbox set up, which is in very nice condition. The cosmetic condition of this machine is just as good as it looks in the photos, if not better. The running condition of the machine is flawless. The original braking system is still in place and working. The CX100 carried over Guzzi’s linked braking system: Pushing down the right-mounted foot pedal activated both the single Brembo rear disc caliper and one of the two front calipers at ratio of 70 percent front, 30 percent rear; squeezing the hand lever then gripped the other front disc. Please feel free to contact me anytime at 630-430-3855 with any questions! This bike has been part of my collection, and is actually ridden once in while. It’s is LOT of fun to ride and runs and rides with absolutely no issues. Everything on this motorcycle is original with exception of the tires which have comparatively few miles on them. Every one of the other finishes, as far as can tell, including the finishes on the exhaust pipes, are original, as is the seat. As you can see from the photos in the photo section, the machine has had absolutely no restoration performed to any part of it except the paint. The condition is exactly what it looks like in the photos. The paint on the tank, side covers, and fenders was done to high standard to the exact original specs and have never had any type of paintwork or touchup since then. The bike has never been in any type of accident or been dropped at any time. All of the mechanical components have been checked over to ensure they work properly including the clutch and brakes. The carburetors were also re-built this season and function perfectly. Specifications:Moto Guzzi Le Mans CX100
