Up for auction is this stunning replica of the fabled 1976Ducati 900 Sport Prototype. This replica was built using genuine 1977 900Super Sport with only 4,000 miles on it. During the build, the engine was examined for clearances,compression and end play. So lightly used was the engine that the cases did notneed to be split and the factory seal remains on the bike along with originalfactory torque completion paint marks on the rocker covers. When the heads wereoff for examination the oil channel o-rings and valve guide o-rings werechanged. This motorcycle has no leaks and burns no oil.
This bike runs even better than it looks thanks to Sacheignition system with true timing advance curve, which eliminates the flawedoriginal Ducati single step advance system. The difference is performance istruly remarkable. Add to this the MBP Desmo valve retaining system for preciselong-lasting valve adjustments, modern Dyna coils, all new OEM wiring harnessand modern regulator rectifier and you have an exceptionally reliable motorcycle.
I can say with absolute confidence this is the finestrunning bevel 900 have ever ridden or been in the company of. She startseasily and delivers her power with astonishing, buttery smooth, forcefultorque. The gearbox shifts effortlessly with each gear shift positive and precise and neutral is always easy to find. Again, I’ve ridden quite few of thesebikes but never one that runs, shifts, handles or brakes as well as this one. Please note that the speedometer is not original to the bike and is in Kilometers, the actual mileage on this machine is roughly 8,100 miles.
