This 1973 850 Interstate is running matching number (frame, engine and transmission) Norton Commando being sold with Bill of Sale only. It looks like good candidate for restoration especially since it is mostly original and complete or ride as is with some work. The original exhaust system was replaced with later style system. The points ignition has been replaced with Boyer electronic unit. The battery is new but needs the hold down straps. As seen in the photos the right header pipe has had some poor repairs done where it meets the crossover. The left side muffler shows some stains. The rims look good. The tires need to be replaced. The original seat has tear on the rear as seen in the photos. The tank and side covers look to be original. Aside from few small dents, scratches and chips they look good for their age. According to the previous owner the speedometer was replaced. It shows 978 miles. The actual mileage is believed to be around 40,000 miles. Some modifications have been done to the rear fender to gain access to the oil lines on the oil tank. The remainder of the bright work looks as though it would polish up nicely. The bike appears to have been maintained more for reliability and function. Cosmetics, although not bad for the bikes age and use, seem to have been of lesser concern. Please ask questions. There is no warranty and the bike is to be sold as is.
