This is very original matching numbers (see pictures) BSA 441 Victor Special that found to be in need of cosmetics and electrics. have done what consider to be light renovation. The tank was pulled, polished and repainted. New decals were affixed to the tank, side cover and oil tank. The horn and lights were sorted using the original switchgear. used fair bit of Mothers polish on the bright bits, and little bit of touch-up paint here and there. cleaned the front drum and shoes and adjusted the brakes as best could. Note the proper double mount front fender.
After sitting for months, she fired on the 2nd kick. Riding for around 10 minutes, found the sound and acceleration to be fantastic, with some pleasing popping on deceleration. She did pop out of 1st gear once or twice when cold. Between the stiff suspension and knobby tires, the ride is bit harsh, but then again she is set up for dirt riding. Cleaning the grease from the front drum and shoes has dramatically helped the braking. The Smiths speedometer is not working, but I've gone on the freeway and kept up with traffic easily.
This is bike that can be ridden right now, looks great, and is solid candidate for an easy full restoration. Parts are plentiful and reasonably cheap. can direct you to several reliable sources. It is currently registered in the State of California and has clean title.
