1961 Cushman ALLSTATE HIGHLANDER for Sale

PURCHASED RECENTLY FROMA LOCAL CUSHMAN COLLECTOR who bought it in 2008. In 2010 he had themotor completely rebuilt. Beyond rebuilding the engine, this scooter is prettymuch how he bought it. think he told me that since 2008 he had probablyonly put 200 miles on it. Selling because last week, I was told that fourcar garage have been renting has been sold and have to be gone by the endof the month. So...I have to figure out what to do with cars, two vintageboats, dump truck and scooter. Last in, first out. I have been looking for a coolscooter since sold my 1948 Whizzer. Whizzers are very cool, and this was afactory Schwinn Whizzer that had been gone thru by Seattle's Mr. Whizzer, butthe problem with my Whizzer was as I would get up to speed, itscared the crap out me. am going along at 30mph and all can think of is Iam on an old bike with motor on it and sketchy brakes. So had aSilver Eagle years ago, and I set out to find another Cushman.  You could find shinier bike, butit would be tough to beat this Cushman mechanically. It starts, runs, andbrakes like thoroughly sorted Cushman. And with the exception of adifferent/new 22mm Mikuni carb, and an upgraded exhaust pipe, it is 100% original. Thetires are like new, the brake works great, the bike starts on the first orsecond kick, and it goes down the road straight and true. I was excited to drive it thru thesummer and then tear it down to do some powder coating, some paint work, and athrough detail. There is not one rusted component and the scooter doesn't looklike it was ever dropped. The paint is older and the patina is even and consistent. Icollect antique toys and in that world we would say it has "evenplay wear". Oh...one thing it needs is either new brake light, or abrake switch and a different air filter, it collapses as if it's not getting enough air thru the filter (see images) . Everything else is in tip-top shape. Doing some research, came awaywith the opinion that the Allstate Highlander is fairly scarce scooter.I don't know these guys well, but think read that they took the tank off ofanother model and mounted it on the rear fender to differentiate the Allstateline from regular Cushman Highlander. The mileageshown is just something had to put in; mandatory box. don??™t think there hasever been speedometer/odometer for this model of Cushman. Anyway, am not sure what else Ican add. Local pickup or would be glad to work with shipper. If it helps, Ican deliver it as far south as Seattle and as far north as Mt. Vernon. Andplease check my other auctions, have to find space and have been trying toreduce the load. Clean title in hand. reasonable offer will be considered. Please consider the images as part of the description. If there is question about anything, please feel free to ask. have set modest reserve.
