“It's an 1960 from the win nr. but seem to have been registrered first time as an 1961. It has the correct export collor, Flame / Silver. As it was born with. I would call it a "near mint condition - running bike".”
Update: Some very nice fellow ebay'ers told me that the engine nr. has been removed and restamped. And believe they are right. I was lucky to get in touch with the previous owner. And he told me that the guy he bought if from in Alabama. Mentioned that the bike has been used for dirt track racing. So good guess would be that the original engine was broken and then replaced. (and restamped with the same as the original) I can see that can mathers to collectors. But it is still wonderful machine! And on the paper still matching numbers :-) I have lovered the price good bite.
Ihave owned this beauty for about 15 years now. bought it from agentelman who had imported it from Alabama and finished the engineresturation and then needed break. Ihave finished the rest. It has lot of orginal parts! The rest is ofcause N.O.S. There has been spared no expence. Except from thecylinderhead. It has been welded at some point. (I did'nt even noticeit when bought the bike back then. It is done by welder who knowhis craft! It haven't bothered me enugh to chance the top when itdoes not in any way affect the motor/driving. And is that nicelydone. But have reduced the price with the price of new old topfor fairness.Ofother faults is only small paint-knicks. They ae on the fenders andretainers. There are pictures of them all. have only been ridingthe bike in dry summer days. And not more than about 600 – 1200miles. Ithas always been stoared in warm garage. When stored for thewinther, engine has been turned min. once per. month. Itruns like the wind and starts within three kicks – usely first.Everything works. There are some ”sweat drops” after driving. It's truley an English bike :-) It's nothing that have requried extraoil filling. But good idea to let is rest on an old carpet or so. Ihave changed the oil every year and only used Castrol's classic xxl40. Let me know if anyone want's additional pictures. Best Regards
