1951 Indian Chief Motorcycle with Sidecar 1951 51 Indian Original Survivor Numbers Matching This ‘51 Indian appears to be original. It starts and runs very nicely. The previous owner converted the bike to electric start, but we have the original components that were removed (See picture).
The engine number matches the frame number.
By careful examination, the paint appears to be original, as cannot find any traces where any paintwork has been done. The sidecar has graphic that says “N.Y.C.” However, we have no documentation if this bike was used by the City of New York and for what purpose. Includes sidecar cover and the original Indian wrenches in the tool box.
