Nice original 1936 Indian 4, am no Indian expert but based on the information the have received the bike is very original and correct.  The frame, fork, engine, wheels, brakes, horn, handlebars, speedo, tanks, fenders, etc etc are all original and correct.  I have been told that the twin zenith carbs are usually seen on 37 models, the headlight is from later chief and good bit of the hardware has been changed.  I have ridden the bike just over 150 miles in the last month and everything works as it should.  The bike starts easily, ususally only kicks when cold and has near 50PSI of oil pressure at idle and as high as 75 when running down the road.  The clutch and transmission work well.  The bike handles great and the brakes works better than expected!  The engine does not make any weird noises or smoke excessively.  I had this bike at Denton and Barber AMCA meets and received lots of comments on how well the bike sounds and runs.  
There are several pieces on this motorcycle that were made by one of the previous owners, he stamped his name R.M. Brewster in several pieces that he made or modified on the bike. The shift knob, speedo light, tail light, seat spring brackets, batter lid, and the timing plug all have his name or initials stamped in them along with the date when he made he did it. was told that 1936 is the only year four that didn't have timing plug, guess this is the reason for this modification, there is pointer behind the cover and the flywheel is degreed. It is pretty neat that he stamped the date in everything, the dates range from 1956-1958.
