Up for sale is pristine 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL. The kilometers are higher, but that just means the car has been driven and enjoyed. At 30 years old, it has averaged just over 10,000km year and now qualifies for Ontario Historic license plates. It hasn’t seen winter since 1993, and has been pleasure car for the past 20 years, not even seeing drop of rain. Paint code is 040 Black with black leather interior. The car has been maintained by Mercedes-Benz specialist and has had the timing chain guides serviced, oil changed meticulously at 3,000km with synthetic, and all of the fluids are fresh. The rear SLS (self-levelling suspension) has been serviced and is functional. The 5.6L V8 pulls strong and confidently, and the four-speed automatic transmission has had its fluids flushed but is original. The car has only been fed Shell 91-octane premium fuel (no ethanol).Being an old car, it has needed few things over the years, but in 2017 alone, it has received new power steering box, new A/C compressor (still running R12), and brand new Hankook tires on the 17” AMG Monoblock wheels. The brake lines, pads, rotors, and two front calipers were also just done this past summer. The 560 has received the following upgrades: OEM Euro headlights (all glass and made by Bosch), 17” AMG Monoblock wheels (still have the factory set, will include), OEM Avantgarde front grille -R129 SL500 steering wheel (smaller diameter, still have the original), OEM woodgrain shift knob, and an OEM car phone. Factory options include heated front and rear seats with memory, power windows, central locking, leather interior, power sunroof, air conditioning, headlight wipers with washers, and much more. This was Mercedes-Benz’s flagship of the W126 generation, retailing for over $120,000 new in 1988.The Becker Grand Prix stereo (with cassette) works perfectly, the Zebrano wood on the interior has no cracks or fade, and the dashboard has no cracks. The power reclining rear seats work perfectly, including heating functions front and rear. The factory First Aid kit from Mercedes-Benz, factory tool kit, and emergency warning triangle in the trunk are all equipped. The body has ZERO rust on it, and has been professionally repaired by restorer in the past. The undercarriage is immaculate, and has been compared to California car. The vehicle is an original Toronto car and was serviced for the first 25 years of its life at Mercedes-Benz Downtown Toronto. This isn’t perfect car by any means, but perfect 560 SELs are trading for $25-35,000 around the world. Those who know the charm of the W126 will be able to identify well with this car, and understand that all of the common issues have been addressed. Please feel free to PM with phone number to discuss the vehicle's specifics and any detailed questions. The car comes with three factory keys that work with the factory alarm, and the leather folio with owner's manual and other books. Vehicle is as-is, where-is condition. It has passed an Ontario emission test and safety inspection with flying colours. Vehicle is also for sale locally, and reserve the right to end auction. Buyer is responsible for any/all shipping costs highly recommend viewing it in person for full transparency. Able to provide more detailed photos upon request, but as the weather gets cooler, the vehicle will be winter-stored in heated garage. No test drives will be available after that. Buyer must send deposit within 48 hours of auction end, and full amount must clear before vehicle ships/is picked up. Cash in person is obviously preferred, but will entertain cashier's check if verified by US or Canadian bank. No PayPal.
