OVERVIEW:
This very sweet, all steel, low mileage pick-up was the subject of complete body-off restoration. Since completion in 2001 it has been driven only 1,200 miles and only in fair weather.
The restoration kept the truck in original configuration without any modifications. It is Canadian built Model 2R5 and carries serial HR51219. It retains both original data tags mounted on the seat riser.
These trucks ran on 112” wheelbase, weighed in at 2,675 lbs., and were powered by an inline L-head 6-cylinder engine rated at 80 hp.The present owner acquired the truck in unrestored condition in Coronation, Alberta in 1979. It was an overall solid truck which had spent its entire life in the dry climate of central Alberta.
An extensive, high quality restoration was performed by professionals in their respective fields. The truck has only seen fair weather outings since. It starts easily, runs smooth, and drives well.
This eye catching little pickup is very clean, tidy, and straight. It garners attention where ever it goes, and it shows very well. This listing provides many more details as you scroll thru. Near the end of this listing under Payment Terms you will find link to photo album of 149 pics.DRIVETRAIN:
The original 170 ci. flathead 6-cylinder engine was professionally rebuilt by Precise Engine Rebuilders of Calgary. It starts and runs very nice and does not smoke.
The engine compartment is very clean, tidy, and nicely detailed, with all other components on and around the engine either new or rebuilt and appearing as original equipment.
The original radiator was recored and is in very nice condition, with no damage to the tank and carries its original tag and original style clamps on the hoses. It is equipped with the optional Overdrive speed column shift transmission, which shifts as it should, and is mated to rebuilt differential with 5.22 gearing. The truck cruises at 50 mph. Included with the truck is good useable 3.73 crown and pinion gear set which would enhance its cruising speed.
The driveshaft was balanced.
There are no major leaks visible, with only the usual sweat drips evident on the tranny.CHASSIS:
The A-1 solid, pit-free frame and undercarriage were sandblasted and painted, with full restoration of all components. The chassis is very clean apart from bit of dust, and all appears as original equipment. New hardware is evident throughout.
Suspension leaf springs were re-arched, and there are over-riders on the rear.
Original shocks were all rebuilt, and it received new suspension rubbers and bushings.
The steering components were all restored or replaced as required.
The complete hydraulic brake system was also fully restored. Front brakes should be adjusted as they tend to pull to the right.
Complete new exhaust system with OEM style muffler.
The gas tank was flushed and galvanized, but shows staining from weeping pin hole. The running tires are matched set of Cientra Plus P205/75/R15 whitewall radials. Included with the truck is set of new Firestone 6.00-16 tube type bias ply blackwall tires mounted on original rims which have been painted and pin striped.
There is no spare tire rack on the truck, but an undermount rack will be included.BODY PAINT:
This truck was quite rust free when the owner acquired it, and as such it is very solid unit with no hidden surprises or weak areas.
The cab and all panels and sheet metal are A-1 straight, and there is no evidence anywhere of any collision damage or repair.
The only evidence of any rust repair is small patch on each of the rear braces just ahead of the rear wheels. Otherwise all body mounts, braces and floor pans are original and solid.
Fit and gaps on doors and hood are all very nice.Professional body and paintwork on this truck, done in 2001, remain in excellent condition.
Hood underside, inner fenders, and all door and body jambs received the same attention and paint finish as the body exterior.
Quality materials, primers, and base/clear paint were used in the refinishing. The finish is outstanding, very smooth, and has beautiful luster and great shine. The paint remains virtually free of any stone chips, apart from couple found on the front bumper.
New rubber bumpers, grommets, pads were used throughout.
Optional reproduction stone guards are mounted on the rear fenders.A new box bed was fabricated and installed.
The solid box sides are double walled, and the inner walls do have some slight ripples.
The tailgate is nice and quite straight, as is the front panel.
Tailgate chains are sleeved.
When these pictures were being taken we rolled the spare onto the tailgate and the right side chain bracket snapped off due to previous inadequate weld, so it will need to be welded back on. ELECTRICAL:
The truck retains original 6-volt positive ground electricals, and has all new original style wiring.
It has clutch activated starter.
All electrical items are in working order, but the gas gauge is slightly off and you’ll be empty bit before that mark.
Stock instrument cluster and speedometer are in very nice condition, and there is an above dash light. There are no turn signals installed but it is wired ready for them.
Equipped with dual tail lights.
All lenses are in good condition.

New repro black floor mat, pedal pads, glove box, weather seals, glass sweepers and channels. Small chip at bottom corner of gas pedal.
A wonderful reproduction of the ‘Important Service Information’ card is found on the inside of the glove box door.
Twin coal oil road flares are mounted on the left inner kick panel. The steering wheel has been nicely restored, there is no paint on the brass horn button.
Original door handles and window cranks are very nice.
It has new door latches, and there is no exterior door handle sag.

The hood ornament is NOS.
Equipped with dual door mirrors, stainless shielded loom for the tail lamp wires, and an optional rear bumper.
It sports correct repro hubcaps in very nice condition.SUMMARY:
