1967  BSA  SPITFIRE  MARK  3  A65  650cc TWIN
For sale is this 1967 A65 Spitfire with matching engine and frame numbers Frame A65SA.4975  Engine  A65SA.4975.Y This top of the range BSA for 1967 was imported from U.S.A. and purchased the bike from well known Adelaide Dealer Importer  in 2011. It has been in storage for the past 10 years. I have the required Government Import approval document and Dating certificate from the U.K. B.S.A.O.C.  verifying it as an original 67 Spitfire still having it's original engine fitted. (see document in photos)  Odometer showing 9,309 miles this could be correct but no guarantee. Motor runs well and all gears engage, it has been fitted with electronic ignition   ( Tri-spark)  and re-wired with new loom fitted. Generally in good condition, paintwork only average and chrome work has some pitting Alloy rims and Gallon fiberglass fuel tank .
The bike is sold on an "as is" "where is" basis with any faults. It is 54 years old and sold as restoration project. Bidders must satisfy themselves with the condition of the bike, it's provenance, originality and any further restoration required before purchasing. No warranty is expressed or implied. There are no refunds. Inspection is recommended prior to purchase.
I have attached in photo's an advertisement  that BSA used in 1967 claiming  120 mph "out of the box"  not sure about that £?)
In 1967 68  sales in USA  declined and many BSA's were returned to U.K.  When the following year order was placed BSA stamped the new shipment with "Y"  so they could be easily identified for warranty purposes This procedure was well documented in  BSA history books.  Any more info SMS TXT me on 0413599920 .
