1973 Vauxhall Bedford Deluxe camper‘BETTY’What retro time machine. This is about as original as youwill find, complete with tone brown and cream paint. The fit out is factory,and has gas, water tank, pump, sink, and cooktop. There is space for gasfridge but fridge not included. The pop top is hard top style and has hardsides with no leaks. It takes person about minute to put it up or takedown. It is set up for dual batteries but only fitted at present for driving.Best part is almost NO RUST. There is tiny easy fix on passenger floor andlower door, but rest is rust free (due to life in west Qld). Front carpet wasremoved to inspect and that was only area located. There is heaps of storageand she is mod plated for 2, so perfect getaway or backpackers car. There are curtains for her in cupboard. Therunning gear is Holden 202 cylinder (same as old Commodores) so parts arecheap and easy to work on. The motor runs well and starts first go. Betty has sat awhile so she could do with basic oil change etc, but she runs and drivesfine. It’s just stopping that is the issue...no brakes. The brake booster did aseal, so have removed it for reconditioning,but have not got it done yet due to time. The interior is spacious and there are cushions for theseats if can find them, or can make own. The table folds down for double bed. Even have retro roof racks forluggage and tow ball for trailer or van. SO basically she needs work, brakes, tyres and general checkover and service, but she is very solid base and almost ready to gocamping....guarantee you will turn heads in BETTY at any campsite. Stand outfrom the Kombi crowd LOL. I really need the driveway space so she has to go. was going to do her up buttoo many kids and not enough seats (you can fit more seats but don’t have the timeor space, as doing up kombi)You will need good tow vehicle or tilt tray as she is big.....but she does fit on car trailer if your car is rated to tow heavy loads. Viewing welcome...in Landsborough, near Australia ZOOpay on pick up or if transporting interstate bank deposit On 09-Nov-17 at 17:24:22 AEDST, seller added the following information:NOTE' buffed small section of Betty today and the scratches on side buff out and looks amazing and glossy. don't have time to do whole car but section is done to show what it looks like....only took me few minutes, so with full cut and polish the paint will look great. There is little bit of surface rust on some guttering but its nothing and can be treated an painted over Rubber seals on roof are old but still keep out the water.
