THIS IS PROBABLY THE LAST MINI VAN "BARN FIND" ... EVER.
I bought this Mini about 17 years ago to be part of my Mini Collection of Mini's, Coopers and Cooper"S" cars. My circumstances have changed with maturing years and have since sold my collection, but kept this Van until last, because it is just so original. I drove it to where it is currently parked (about hr south west of Brisbane) and it ran beautifully. I was told by the previous owner and believe that the 59,000 Miles is genuine, and that the engine and transmission are those originally fitted to the car when new. About years ago removed the Clutch Master Cylinder to have some work done on it and the mechanic that gave it to went out of business and with him went the clutch master cylinder. They are readily available ... say allow $100. I will not try to start the engine because it should have its fluids changed before attempting to start her. Out of 100 cars, this is the most original un-restored car had in my collection. Viewing is essential for these old cars and will be by prior arrangement over the Queens Birthday Weekend Sat (30/09/2017) through to Mon (02/10/2017) between 9AM and 4PM each day. will not be in attendance when the car is viewed and the guys who store it for me have no interest in cars and will simply make it available for viewing. Some things in the back of the van do not belong to the van and are not part of the sale. There is no rust to speak of and the van has lived indoors for the last 17 years that owned her and at least the years before that as the guy bought her from was besotted with the van and would only sell her to someone who had indoor storage for her. Yesterday, noticed small rip in the ceiling above the passenger seat. The successful bidder will need to make payment by bank transfer and when the funds are cleared by my bank will instruct the guys to release the car to the buyer. The guys are always on-site on Thursdays and Sundays and will be able to help loading etc ... The last Mini sold on Ebay had over 7,000 views so this is going to be an auction to remember (for me anyway). Depending on the level of interest, may reduce or totally waive the "Reserve Price" later in the week ... have always started these car auctions with "Reserve Price" and cannot recall ever NOT removing it before the auction ended.
