Uncompleted nut and bolt restorationproject. Pictures include the actual car before restoration began andshows that it is complete car with all the bits and pieces. The motor has new pistons, rings, bigand small end bearings, gudgeon pins, crankshaft roller bearings, oilsplash baffles, valves and guides. The carb is the original Zenith.All other components have been checked and passed for refit (egtiming gears, fuel pump, distributor, carb) It also has new clutchplate and reconditioned pressure plate. Universal joints in thepropshaft replaced. The motor has not been run since the rebuild. Thegearbox has been rebuilt, new syncro rings (2nd, 3rd 4th) newbearings. Both items were assembled with plenty of lubricant and notfilled with the required quantity of oils, but have been turned overregularly by hand. Similarly the differential. Wheels areoriginal, stripped, blasted and powder coated then fitted with periodcorrect Firestone tyres imported from the USA. The spare has acorrect, very good tyre, not new imported tyre. There are 15 newbrass wheel nuts machined up by an engineering works to originalspecs but they still have to be chromed. The steering box has notbeen reconditioned and there is some play in that. The body hasbeen rebuilt to point. The floor pan and scuttle are finished andthe main component of the rear bodywork has been rebuilt but requiresfinishing. The woodwork frame has been repaired and the ply panelsmaking up the boot space and the area behind the seat are finished. The rest of the body is complete with all bonnet panels and ventssandblasted and in primer. Original restored and re-chromed frontbumper comes with the car and an original restored and re-chromed rear bumper is on it'sway from overseas which also will go with the car. The front guards got with the car were cut offat the base of the radiator cowl, but have acquired originalfront guards and the bottom valance that goes under the radiator cowlbetween the front guards. The cut guards are very good and rust freewhile the aquired guards are original and repairable with some rust.The valance is good and rust free. The running boards are notoriginal and these would have to be replaced if you wantedauthenticity. The rear guards are perfect. The seat (single benchtype) is covered in green leather, both bottom and back and inexcellent condition. The dash dials are all there but cannot vouchwhether they are in working condition. The car would need newwiring harness but what was an excuse for wiring harness comes withthe car. The hood bows and latches are there and there is fairlygood, useable hood attached which would also make perfect patternif wanting to replace with new. Side weatherscreen frames are alsothere. The hinged windscreen is good but the frame and supports wouldneed rechroming.
The front end is rebuilt. It has newfriction plates in the front shock, new kingpins, new link pins andbushes between the front axle and shock, new brake pads and new wheelbearings all around. New friction plates in the rear shocks. This has been nut and boltrestoration starting with the chassis rails as seen in the pics.All in all this is very complete A7 and would not take muchfinancial investment to complete. All the big $$$ already spent. The reserve price is considerably less than what has been spent to date. Ideally would suit someoneinterested in the bodywork as the mechanicals are done. Regretfulsale after all the work that has been done but genuine reason forselling.
